The following illustrative figures for the individual work steps are based on an ORBIWELD TP
welding tongs with KD (KD = cold wire unit), in as far as the work steps are identical for all TP
versions. Procedures or work steps that deviate are, if required, described separately and
represented in a separate figure.

6.2
Transporting the welding tongs
WARNING!
Danger of injury through high weight of the welding tongs!
Depending on the model, the Orbital welding tongs weigh a max. of 33,30 kg (73.41 lbs).
X Lift the transport case carefully.
X Place the case on a secure base.
X Wear safety shoes to EN ISO 20345, Class SB.
Transport the welding tongs in the transport case, either
• By pulling the case using the rollers integrated in the case (trolley function), or
• By carrying it at the handles integrated in the case.

To pull out the trolley handle press the release button at the handle (see small figure below).

Taking the welding tongs out of the case
CAuTION!
Danger of injury through pointed electrode or, if applicable, cold wire (for KD versions)!
If the welding tongs is removed incorrectly from the transport case, there is the danger that you
may touch the pointed electrode or the cold wire (at KD versions).
X Always use the holding bracket provided to remove the welding tongs.
X Remove the electrode and, if applicable, the cold wire (for KD versions) before trans-
porting.
1. Use the holding bracket (1) to take the welding tongs out of the foam inlay of the transport case.
NOTE!
A handle (2) at the side of the machine facilitates handling the machine and increases safety.
The handle is supplied separately and must be mounted on the welding tongs before
commissioning.
2. Screw the handle (2)handtight into the thread provided to this purpose on the side of the welding tongs.

X Dismantle the handle before stowing the welding tongs away into the transport case.
