Fuel
For optimal results, use normal unleaded fuel blend-
ed with special 2-stroke oil.
Fuel mixture
Mix the fuel with 2-stroke oil in a suitable container.
Shake the container to mix everything carefully.
m CAUTION!: Never use pure gasoline for this saw.
It will damage the engine and you will lose the war-
ranty for this product. Do not use a fuel mixture that
has been stored for longer than 90 days.
m CAUTION!: Special 2-stroke oil must be used for
air-cooled 2-stroke engines with a 40:1 ratio. Do not
use 2-stroke oil product with a mixing ratio of 100:1.
Insufficient oil will damage the engine and, in this
case, void the warranty for the motor.
Recommended fuels
Some conventional gasolines are blended with ingre-
dients such as alcohol or ether compounds to meet
the standards for clean exhaust gases. The engine
runs satisfactorily with all grades of gasoline, but for
the purpose of self-propulsion with oxygenated gas-
olines, it is best to use regular gasoline. At best, use
regular unleaded gasoline.
Oiling of the chain and bar (Fig.9)
Every time the fuel tank is filled with gasoline, oil
must also be added to the chain oil tank.
It is recommended to use commercial chain oil.
1. Remove the oil tank cap and fuel tank cap .
2. Fill the chain oil tank to 80% with chain oil.
3. Pour the petrol-/oil mixture into the fuel tank
Chain Brake (Fig.10-11)
m NOTICE
Before each use always check that the chain brake
is functioning.
• Hold the chain saw by the front handle (6).
• Press the front hand guard (3) forward to position
(3). Press the pedal, the chain should not move.
• Pull the front handle (3) back to position (3). Press
the pedal, the chain should move.
Oil Supply Control
To check the chain lubrication keep the chain on a
piece of paper and give full throttle for a few seconds.
On the paper the quantity of oil can be checked.
m NOTICE
Make sure that there is always enough oil in the tank
because chain lubrication is always on.
Automatic chain lubrication - no settings possi-
ble!

7. Operation

Start the appliance (Fig.10-13)
m CAUTION!: Before you start the engine, make
sure that the chain isn't touching anything and the
chain brake is activated before each start.
1. Set the power switch (10) to position „I".
2. Press the fuel pump button (23) until this is filled
with fuel.
3. Pull out the CHOKE knob (17).
m NOTICE
When restarting immediately after stopping the en-
gine, do not pull out the CHOKE knob (17).
1. Press the front handle (3) forward to activate the
chain brake
2. Place the saw on a firm, level surface. Hold the
saw firmly with the foot as indicated. Quickly pull
the starter (7) 2 times. Pay attention to the run-
ning chain!
3. Once the engine has started, press the throttle
trigger lock (11) and the throttle lever (19) so that
the CHOKE button (17) clicks into place again.
4. Pull the front handle (3) backwards to release the
chain brake.
5. Let the engine warm up, controlling the throttle
setting (19) and letting the chain run briefly.
Stopping the motor (Fig.10)
1. Release the throttle lever and wait until the en-
gine is idling.
2. Set the power switch to „Stop (0)" to stop the mo-
tor. (Fig.19/Pos.11b)
m NOTICE
To stop the engine in an emergency, activate the
chain brake and set the ON / OFF switch to „Stop (0)"

8. Cleaning

m WARNING
Disconnect the spark plug boot before doing any
cleaning and maintenance work!
Cleaning
• Keep all safety devices, air vents and the mo-
torhousing free of dirt and dust as far as possible.
Wipe the equipment with a clean cloth or blow it-
with compressed air at low pressure.
• We recommend that you clean the device immedi-
ately each time you have finished using it.
• Clean the equipment regularly with a moist cloth
and some soft soap. Do not use cleaning agents
or solvents; these could attack the plastic parts
of the equipment. Ensure that no water can seep
into the device.
