Dosage setting
Note
After being switched on, the device automatically uses the last used set-
tings.
The dosage values can be increased or decreased from their default setting
using the corresponding "+" and "-" keys.
Operating mode
Bipolar cutting
Bipolar coagulation
Monopolar cutting
Modulation index 1
Monopolar coagulation
Normal
The step width per push button is 1 as standard, or 0.1 in the Bipolar COAG
range between 0.1 and 9.9.
If the key remains compressed, the first three counting increments will run
through slowly whilst the others will be considerably quicker. If the key is
released and then pressed again, the next three counting increments are
run through again slowly. In this way, the desired dosage can be set to
quick (high counting frequency) or precise (low counting frequency).
The dosage values for "CUT" and "COAG" or "monopolar" and "bipolar" can
be changed at the same time.
Modulation indices 2, 3 and 4 provide stronger sloughing than index 1, see
Cutting (monopolar CUT). If, for modulation index 1, a dosage >125 has
been set, this will decrease to the corresponding maximum value of 125
upon selecting modulation index 2.
The displayed dosage values correspond to the output in watts (W) at
nominal load, e.g. if the displayed dosage value "43" in the monopolar
COAG area corresponds to an output of 43 watts with a load of 500 ohms,
see Output graphs.

Saving the device settings
To save all of the device settings, including the set pedal assignment, three
storage locations are available.
To save a setting, key 2 must first be pressed. LED 1, which is located
above key 2, will then illuminate to indicate that the device setting can be
saved in the memory. One of the three save buttons 4 must then be
pressed. Above the pressed save button, the corresponding LED 3 will then
illuminate and this is used to confirm that the storage process has been
successful.
The saved values remain set for a long period of time, even if the device is
switched off. However, they can be changed at any time when necessary.
If only key 2 has been pressed (symbol 1 illuminates), it will not be possi-
ble to activate the HF outputs as the ongoing storage process will not yet
be fully complete.
There are three ways in which to return to the normal operating mode:
Storing the current device settings correctly.
Pressing key 2 again.
Waiting: after approx. 10 seconds, the device will automatically switch
to normal operating mode.
Viewing the stored device settings
The stored device settings can be viewed by pressing one of the three save
buttons 4. If the settings have been selected correctly, the corresponding
LED 3 above the pressed save button 4 will illuminate. The viewed device
settings can also be changed again, in which case, the LED above the
pressed save button will fade out.
Switching the pedal assignment
The foot switch is assigned to the corresponding generator using toggle
key 39. If, for example, the foot switch is assigned to the bipolar part, the
monopolar part can only be activated via the handpiece. If the monopolar
part then needs to be activated via the foot switch, the pedal assignment
must be changed via key 39. The current pedal assignment is displayed via
LEDs 34 and 40.
