Mounting the PressurePod

1 Attach the rail clamp (A) to the standard rail of the
compatible device.
2 Tighten the locking screw of the rail clamp (B) by
hand. Check that the PressurePod is securely fit-
ted to the standard rail.

3 Insert the USB plug of the PressurePod into the
USB port of the compatible device.

lines
WARNING
Risk of contamination
During the measurement of the airway pres-
sure, there is a risk of contamination of the
product.
Place a disposable syringe filter between the
pressure measuring line and the Paw port.

If the pressure measuring ports are open when
not in use, there is a risk of contamination of
the product.
When not in use, protect the pressure measur-
ing ports with sealing caps.
Only pressure measuring lines with a length between
50 cm (19.7 in) and 300 cm (118 in) may be connect-
ed to the product. It is recommended that all pres-
sure measuring lines used have the same length in
order to avoid time shifts between the pressure sig-
nals.
When measuring the pressure of gases in contact
with patients (e.g., Paw), disposable syringe filters
must be used due to the risk of contamination.
Place the filter between the pressure measuring port
and the pressure measuring line.
When measuring the pressure of gases not in con-
tact with patients (e.g., when using a balloon cathe-
ter), the pressure measuring line may be connected
directly to the respective pressure measuring port.
1 Remove the Luer Lock sealing caps from the
pressure measuring ports to be used. Keep the
sealing caps or have disposable sealing caps at
hand to protect the ports after use.
2 Pressure measurement at the Paux1/Paw port:
For measuring Paw, connect a pressure measur-
ing line to the disposable syringe filter at the
Paux1/Paw port.
Connect the other end of the pressure measuring
line to a patient-side Luer Lock connector of the
breathing circuit.
