2 GENERAL INFORMATION
2.1 ABOUT THE MANUAL
This manual contains the information for the proper installation and start-up, main technical
characteristics and how to identify and correct the most usual problems of the Enterprise UPS.
2.2 TERMS AND DEFINITIONS USED IN THE MANUAL
PWM: Pulse Width Modulation; pulsed voltage generated by the output inverter which feeds
the load in the battery mode.
Amp, A: Ampere.
°C: Degrees Celsius.
AC: Alternating current.
DC: Direct current.
cm: Centimeter.
Hz: Hertz.
kg: Kilogram = 1000 grams.
m: Meter.
mA: Milliampere = 0.001 ampere.
min: Minute.
mm: Millimeter.
rms: Root mean square; effective value.
V: Volts.
2.3 ABOUT THE UPS
This UPS family has an extremely compact design, with a metal enclosure containing all the
electronic circuits and power components. All elements the user can access are located at the
rear, while the control panel is located on the front of the equipment. The top cover and side
panels can be removed, allowing access to the inside of the UPS for maintenance.
The front of all units contains the user interface panel used for monitoring, maintenance and
control. The terminal block for the electrical connection to the mains, reserve line, load, external
batteries and main circuit breaker are located at the rear. The internal batteries are located in
the lower part with access through the front cover of the UPS.
