7 PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE
The UPS useful life is directly linked to scheduled/preventive maintenance processes, which
provide greater operational reliability and equipment efficiency. This type of maintenance must
be performed by the company that supplied the equipment or by a company that is specialized
and trained by the manufacturer.
7.1 ANNUAL MAINTENANCE (OR PERFORMED EVERY SIX MONTHS IN CAS-
ES OF MORE CRITICAL APPLICATIONS)
The following actions and tests are performed during the scheduled/preventive maintenance:
Clean the equipment.

Clean the control and interface boards.

Check the tightness of all nuts, screws and electrical connections (UPS and terminals of

each battery monoblock).
Test the ventilation efficiency.
„
Check the inverter output voltage wave form.
„
Check the output voltage and frequency.
„
Check the synchronism between the reserve line and the inverter output voltages.
„
Check the signals, alarms and actuation of the EPO.
„
Check the calibration of the Display with a calibrated instrument.
„
Test the operation of the manual switches and automatic devices.
„
Test the operation of the switching circuits.
„
Test energy fault on the UPS battery; test the efficiency of the battery.
