General Information
2.3.1 Main Applications
This new UPS family was designed to provide stabilized and filtered energy, especially for
powering sophisticated and sensitive electronic devices (e.g., data processing systems). These
UPSs can be used to power datacenters, call centers, electronic systems of medical centers,
police stations, highway tunnels, broadcasting stations, banks and technical and administrative
offices that require a power source free from voltage and frequency variations.
2.3.2 Capacity and Backup Time
Due to its modular design, the UPS models are available with rated power from 10 kVA to 40
kVA. These models have batteries inside the equipment. One or more external battery modules
can be used to provide the system with the desired backup time.
2.3.3 Safe and Simple Operation
All UPS elements available to the user for daily operation are isolated and disconnected from
high voltages.
The overload and overtemperature control ensures immediate system protection in case one of
these conditions occurs during operation. The user can view the operating status of the UPS
on the front panel and easily shut it down or transfer it to the reserve line (and vice versa) (see
Chapter 4 CONTROL PANEL on page
An EPO (Emergency Power Off) pushbutton is available on the equipment front panel. Once it
is activated, the system shuts down. A remote EPO switch (optional) can be connected to the
UPS so as to enable the remote emergency shutdown.
The status of the UPS can be easily monitored using a personal computer by means of a
management application (optional), especially when the UPS is installed in areas that are not
assisted. For further information, see the
