Safety Instructions
1.3 PRELIMINARY RECOMMENDATIONS
ATTENTION!
In order to reduce the risk of fire and electric shock, install the UPS indoors in
an environment with controlled humidity and temperature, free of pollutants
and explosive agents. Do not install the UPS where the temperature and
humidity are out of the specifications (refer to
OPERATION on page
ATTENTION!
Do not remove or disconnect the input supply cable while the UPS is turned
on. That will eliminate the system safety grounding.
ATTENTION!
The performance and safety of the system are directly related to the correct
sizing and execution of the electrical design, which must comply with the ABNT
standards, especially NBR 5410 (Low Voltage Electrical Installations).
DANGER!
Failure to comply with the safety instructions may result in death risks and/or
damages to the equipment.
The UPS has its own energy source (batteries). Therefore, the output sockets
may be energized even if the power plug is not connected to the mains.
UPSs have potentially hazardous voltages. Do not insert objects or block the
ventilation fins. All repairs and maintenance jobs should be only performed by
the WEG National Authorized Service Network.
DANGER!
The batteries must be recycled. Never dispose of them by means of incinerators,
crushers, trash compactors, ordinary trash cans or throw them directly into
the environment.
There are risks of explosion or fire when they are exposed to flame, subjected
to pressure or come into contact with energy-carrying materials (metals or
liquids), in addition to contaminating the environment due to the residues part
of their composition.
NOTE!
The package of the new batteries can be used to store the old ones, or put
them in individual plastic bags and deliver them directly to your supplier. In case
the supplier does accept them, contact the battery manufacturer or distributor,
as they are responsible for the collection.
The batteries replaced by the Technical Service are collected by WEG and sent
to the respective suppliers for the proper recycling.
