3 INSTALLATION AND OPERATION
Make sure that the mains comply with ABNT NBR 5410 (Low Voltage Electrical Installations)
and that the guidelines contained in the previous chapters have been correctly followed. If any
further explanation is needed, ask a qualified professional or contact WEG.
Install the equipment in an appropriate place and with access restricted to authorized personnel.
Avoid:
Direct exposure to sunlight, rain, excessive moisture or sea air. Inflammable or corrosive
liquids or gases.
Excessive vibration.
Dust, metallic particles or oil mist.
The UPS may be in one of the following operating conditions:
Normal operation - The load is supplied by the UPS. The UPS is in normal operation and
uses the mains to supply power to the load and charge the batteries. In this operating mode,
the critical load is being supplied by a stabilized voltage source.
Operation with automatic internal Bypass - The load is directly supplied by the mains. In
case of an inverter fault and/or overload, the power to the load is supplied through the reserve
line. In this operating mode, the critical load is being supplied by a non-stabilized voltage
source, being subject to the mains oscillations.
Operation with the manual maintenance Bypass activated - The UPS is disabled. Due
to maintenance or emergency situations, the load can be directly connected to the mains via
manual bypass line. In this operating mode, the critical load is being supplied by a non-stabilized
voltage source, being subject to the mains oscillations.
Battery operation - The load is supplied by the UPS. The UPS is in normal operation, but
the power required to supply the critical load comes from the batteries, because the mains
voltage is out of the permissible range. In this operating mode, the critical load is being
supplied by a stabilized voltage source.
3.1 CONNECTING OF THE INTERNAL BATTERIES
ATTENTION!
All operations described below can only be performed by authorized and
technically qualified persons.
ATTENTION!
The UPS does not have a starting system by batteries. Therefore, the equipment
must not be started by the batteries.
Only close the battery circuit breaker and fuses after the device is fully activated.
Do not open the battery circuit breaker while the equipment is in operation,
since that could damage the equipment.
