5 UPS ENTERPRISE PARALLELISM PROCEDURE
5.1 SYSTEM PREPARATION
Installing multiple UPSs in parallel requires one or more individual UPS modules. The type of
installation guarantees different levels of operation, based on the complexity of the solution
used. The typical recommended solution is described below; it ensures the complete operation
of the system

The disconnections are included in all power lines, for each individual UPS (disconnection of
the input, output and batteries).
In addition, it is recommended to set a general Bypass for the system. For this solution, it is
recommended to install an external system with functional interlocking. Such interlock device
is required to prevent damages to the system in case of incorrect operation.
The indicated solution allows all the test operations, both in the installation and maintenance
phases, of each individual UPS.
The system general bypass can also be used to isolate the entire system without disruption
in load supply.
