SUBSTITUTION OF FLYWHEEL HUB AND GROUP
FLYWHEEL FAN ON THE VESPA GS./VSB 1
For the above mentioned substitutions it is not usual
ly necessary to skim down the external and internal
diameter of the flywheel rotor.
The concentricity of the internal diameter of the ro
tor with respect to the flywheel axis can be obtained
as follows:
l. - Mate the hub to the flywheel rotor without com
pletely tightening the securing screws.
2. - Mount the balancing mandrel T. 0028143 ( as in
fig. 24) and set up the assembly between lathe
centres.
Using a clock gauge mounted with extension
arm ( in non magnetic material such as brass)
check the excentricity of the rotors internal dia
meter: adjust the rotor so as to obtain a reading
of less than 0.05 mm on the clock gauge.
After said operation tighten the bolts securing
the hub to the rotor
3. - With the rotor still mounted on the mandrel
T. 0028143 balance the rotor ( a max out of ba
lance of 0.3 grm applied to the external dia.
is admissable), by drilling blind holes where
necessary on the pole shoes (see fig. 24).
N. B. - For substituting the flywheel cam of
the Vespa G. · S ./VSB 1, see pages 71 - 177.
