Instructions relative to operations to be carried out
On dismantling components for overhauls or substitution,
always use new packings and split pins on reassembly.
In cases where faults are found which are not due to the
causes indicated on the chart of the previous page ( eg.
abnormal noises, breakage or premature wear to mecha­
nical parts etc), the darr!age must first be localised and
the parts in question overhauled or substituted as the case
may be: it is be noted that on fitting IT!ain engine parts,
they should function with the assembly play as indicated
on the table at page 87 to 98.
due to an irregular or broken charging circuit, check the
group flywheel magneto - rectifier, fuse, H. T. coil and
connections to battery and chassis earthing.
Ensure that the battery is connected to the circuit so as to
avoid « emergency running » with subsequent damage to
the rectifier.
For the ignition circuit of the Vespa 125, 150 and G. L.
check the flywheel mag. ( for magnetisation and timing,
see pages 184 to 188) and the ignition coil ( internal for
the Vespa 125; internal and external for the Vespa 150
and G. L.).
