Transport, place of erection
If delivered on a pallet, perform transport to the place of erection on the pallet using

Immediately on receipt check the product for damage in transport. If the product is
damaged, do not install or commission it.

PLACE OF ERECTION

Ambient conditions
Ambient temperature in measuring mode: +15 °C to +25 °C.
Do not expose to severe temperature fluctuations.

Store or erect the system indoors at a location dust-free, dry and not exposed to
sunlight, free from shaking and vibration.
Do not store or erect the system close to corrosive or aggressive chemical sub-
stances, solvents, moisture or dirt.

Avoid exposure to direct sunlight.
4.1.2.
Unpacking the machine

Store the packaging material for any necessary disassembly, dispatch or storage.

1. Remove the lid of the wooden box.
2. Unscrew the folding crate from the pallet and lift it off.
3. Unscrew and remove the four retaining brackets from the pre-setting device VG1
and pallet.

4. Screw in M16 threaded rods of sufficient length at the four corners of the pre-set-
ting device VG1.
5. With four people, lift the pre-setting device VG1 and place it in a suitable loca-
tion.
6. Unscrew the threaded rods.

7. Lift the pre-setting device VG1 off the pallet using suitable lifting gear and install
it in a suitable location.
4.1.3.
Remove the transport restraint

Before initial commissioning, remove the transport restraint at the installation loca-
tion and store it for any necessary disassembly, dispatch or storage.
1. Open the rear bellows.
2. Unscrew the red transport restraint using an SW4 hexagon L-wrench.

4. Unscrew the grub screw from the spindle bore using an SW3 hexagon key L-
wrench.

Commissioning
5.1.
CONNECTING THE POWER SUPPLY

Use only the power supply unit supplied.
1. Connect a low-power plug to the power supply unit.
2. Screw the low-voltage plug of the power supply unit to the socket at the base of
the connecting arm to the panel PC.
3. Connect the power plug to the electrical mains (110 - 230 V voltage).

measurement decimal degree.
5. In the "DegMinSec" field, select the number of digits for the angle unit of meas-
urement degree-minute-second.

OPERATING MODES
1. In the "Settings" area (G), press "Operating modes".

2. In the "Unit" field, select the unit of measurement "mm" or "inch".
3. In the "Angle unit" field, select the angle unit of measurement decimal degree or
degree-minute-second.

PRINT

Also adjust the label settings in Windows© under "Printer Properties" according to
the selections made.
1. In the "Settings" area (G), press "Print".

The "Print" menu opens.
2. In the "Label feeder" field, enter the feeder for the label printing.
3. In the "Printer mode" field, select "label printer" or "report printer".
4. In the "Printer" field, select the printer model.
5. In the "Layout" field, select one of the four predefined label layouts.

The "Print radius" field indicates whether the radius value is printed on the la-
bel.

The "Print angle" field indicates whether the angle value is printed on the la-
bel.

A preview of the label layout is displayed.

ADMINISTRATOR

The default password setting is "GARANT".
Locked functions (indicated by a red lock symbol) are activated by entering the password.
1. In the "Settings" area (G), press "Administrator".

The "Administrator" menu opens.
2. Enter the password in the "Password" field. Confirm the entry with "OK" on the
keyboard.

Administrator mode is enabled, functions with required administrator au-
thorisation are enabled.
3. In the "Switch off PC" field, select system behaviour when exiting the measure-
ment software:
