Yes: PC shuts down.
No: PC remains active and the operating system interface is displayed.
4. In the "Save session" field, select whether to save the current settings when exit-
ing the measurement software:
Yes: Settings of the current session can be saved under a freely selectable name
and restored later.
No: Session will be discarded; only the current adapter will be retained.
5. In the "Keyboard visible" field, select how the graphical keyboard is to behave
when pressing a text field:
Yes: Graphical keyboard is displayed.
No: Graphical keyboard is not displayed.
6. In the "Mouse visible" field, select whether the cursor should be visible in the
measurement software:
Yes: Cursor visible, menu items can be selected with mouse / trackball.
No: Cursor not visible.
7. In the "Screen saver" field, enter the time of inactivity until the screen saver is ac-
tivated.
8. In the "DNC active" field, select whether the DNC icon should be visible in the
"Help and special functions" area (A):
Yes: DNC icon visible.
No: DNC icon not visible.

The following three buttons are only visible after the administrator password has
been entered.
9. Press the "Set DNC path" button to enter a file path for storing the measured
data.
10. Press the "Change password" button to assign a new password.
11. Press the "Exit" button to exit administrator mode.

All functions with required administrator authorisation are locked and
marked with a red lock icon.
6.8.
PARALLELISM
i
For correcting parallelism errors between the Z-axis and the rotary spindle/rotary
axis of the pre-setting device VG1.
ü Use a parallel plug gauge of 300 – 500 mm length.
1. Enter the administrator password to unlock the "Learn" functionality.
2. In the "Settings" area (G), press "Parallelism".

The "Parallelism" menu opens.
3. Insert the plug gauge into the spindle.
4. Adjust the edge at the lower end of the plug gauge in the live image.
5. Press the "Learn" button. Request – Confirm the note with "OK".

The timer expires. Do not move any axes during this period.
6. Press the "Accept" button.
7. Adjust the edge at the top end of the plug gauge in the live image.

The timer expires as soon as the axis is at a standstill. Do not move any axes
during this period.
8. Press the "Accept" button.

The calculated angular misalignment is displayed.
9. Recalibrate all previously stored adapters.
6.9.
NEW ADAPTER
1. In the "Settings" area (G), press "New adapter".

The "New adapter" menu opens.
2. Enter the adapter name in the "Name" field.
3. In the "X-calibration offset" field, enter the offset in the X direction.
4. In the "Z-calibration offset" field, enter the offset in the Z direction.
5. In the "Swap axes" field, select "Yes" if you want to swap the X-axis and Z-axis.
Otherwise "No".
6. In the "Invert X" field, select "Yes" if you want to invert the direction of measure-
ment of the X-axis. Otherwise "No".
7. In the "Invert Z" field, select "Yes" if you want to invert the direction of measure-
ment of the Z-axis. Otherwise "No".
8. In the "Axis diameter" field, first select the X-axis or Z-axis. Then select "Radius" if
the diameter is measured as a radius, otherwise select "Diameter".

OTHER POINTS
1. In the "Settings" area (G), press "Miscellaneous".

The "Miscellaneous" menu opens.
2. Select the tools:
Press "1" to display the tool list and select all tools.
Press "1x" to display the tool list. One or more tools can be selected from the tool
list.
Press "0" to not select a tool from the tool list.
The following buttons are available for editing the tools:

Select a previously saved session and load it into the
system.
Save session
Save a session (the currently loaded adapter with its
elements/tools) under a freely selectable name.
Delete tools from file
Delete selected, previously saved tools from file.
Delete session from file
Delete the selected, previously saved session from file.

1. In the "Settings" area (G), press "Info".

The "Info" menu opens.
2. Display version and date information for:
Visual Tool Preset.
Encoder
Device
Qt
3. Press the "?" button to call up the user manual.
4. Press the "Exports" button to retrieve saved lists (*tsv – files).
5. Press the "Pictures" button to retrieve saved screenshots.

7.1.
SWITCHING ON
1. Switch on the main switch on the panel.

The panel PC will start up.

Measurement software starts.
2. Perform a movement to reference points either by means of fine adjustment
(hand crank) or by means of quick adjustment. The axes can be traversed in any
order.

Pre-setting device VG1 is ready for measurements.
7.2.
TOOL FUNCTIONS
7.2.1.
Create a new tool
1. In the "Help and special functions" area (C), press "Manage tools" (11).

The "New tool" menu opens.
2. Enter the tool name in the "Name" field.
3. In the "Nominal value X" field, enter the nominal X-value of the tool.
4. In the "Nominal value Z" field, enter the nominal Z-value of the tool.
5. In the "Measuring position" field, enter ???.
6. In the "Label data" field, select the data for label printing.
7. In the "Axis diameter" field, select the X-axis (default) or Z-axis as the diameter
axis.
8. Enter a comment in the "Comment" field, if desired. This is not printed on the la-
bel.
9. Press the "Set current values" button to populate the "Nominal value X" and
"Nominal value Z" fields with the current display values.
10. Press the "Save" button to save the tool data.
11. Press the "Load" button to load a saved tool into the tool list.

The "Load tool" menu opens. Select one or more tools here and confirm with
"OK".
12. Press the "End" button to exit the menu.

The tool data is transferred to the tool list.
7.2.2.
Editing and deleting
1. Mark the tool in the tool list (G).
2. Press the "Save" button to save tool data. Confirm the request message for over-
writing with "OK".
3. Press the "Delete" button to delete the tool.
4. Press the "Edit" button to edit tool data.

The "Show tool" menu opens. Make the changes and confirm with "OK".

ADAPTER FUNCTIONS
7.3.1.
Creating a new adapter

7.3.2.
Editing and deleting
1. Press the adapter and tool display (H).

The "Show adapter" menu opens.
2. Press the "Edit" button to edit adapter data. Make the changes and confirm with
"OK".
3. Press the "Delete" button to delete adapter.
4. Press the "Calibrate" button to eliminate measurement differences by calibrating.
