MEASURING FUNCTIONS
i
For the position of the buttons on the user interface, see
The graphs explaining the measurements represent the display of the live image (G).
en
Before performing a measurement, carry out the following steps:
1. Insert the adapter/calibration mandrel in the mounting.
2. Select or create the adapter.
3. Perform calibration.

Delimiting a live image and measurement range
i
Every measurement function operates across the entire area of the live image; the
measurement range can be restricted, if required.

1. Use your finger or mouse pointer to press a corner of the desired measurement
range on the live image of the touch screen (1).
2. Use your finger or mouse pointer to either press the second corner of the desired
measurement range or drag the cursor to the second corner (2).
hr
Red rectangle is displayed (3).
3. To change the size of the measurement range, press and move the corner you
want to change.
4. To move the measurement range, press and hold down the red rectangle and
lt
move it.
5. To end the restriction of the measurement range, reselect the measurement
function.

into position.
2. Use the infinite fine adjustment to bring the tool into the field of view of the cam-
era.
3. Use the dynamic focus display to adjust the maximum focus. See Dynamic focus
ro
display [} Page 18].
4. Press the "Fixed cross hair" button (18) to position the centre of the cross hair
firmly in the middle of the live image.
5. With fine adjustment, move the cutting edge (3) until all adjustment aids light up
sv
green (4).
Function description
Green adjustment aid indicates correct alignment of the cutting edge (1).
Yellow adjustment aid indicates deviation between the cutting edge and the
sk
cross hair (2).

Dynamic cross hair
1. Press the "Dynamic cross hair" button (19) to dynamically place the centre of the
cross hair on the intersection point of the maximum X- and Z-values of the tool
sl
contour.
2. Activate subfunction by repeatedly pressing the button:

Function description
The measurement function seeks out the maximum X and Z-values in the live im-
age and constructs a vertical and a horizontal line from these values.
The intersection point of these two lines gives the coordinates of the constructed
point (1).
When the tool (2) is moved in the live image, the coordinates of the intersection
point of the vertical and horizontal lines are recalculated (3).
i
When the tool is moved in the live image, the coordinates in the measured value
window do not change.

1. Press the "Focus cutting edge" button (20) to place the focus on the area of the
tool with the maximum X-value.
The outer tool boundary in the X direction is marked by a green line (1).
2. Rotate tool by 360°.
A purple line indicates the maximum tool boundary value (2) reached during ro-
tation.
The green line follows the tool boundary (3).
3. Rotate the tool until the green and purple lines coincide (4).
Tool focused on area with maximum X-value.

1. Press the "Total image" button (21) to display the enveloped surface of the tool
contour.
2. Rotate tool by 360°.
In addition to the tool view (1), the enveloped tool contour is shown (2).
3. Switch on the optional dynamic cross hair to read off the X and Z-values from the
measured value window (3).
An additional measurement function relates to the contour of the tool.
