5.4 Application and programming examples

5.4.1 Isolated adduction/
abduction
1. Complete the mechanical settings and
adjust the device to the patient as de-
scribed in section 4.2.
2. Then, program the fixed positions for
motors A (anteversion/retroversion) and
C (internal/external rotation) and the
range of motion for motor B (abduction/
adduction) as described in 5.1 in the fol-
lowing order:
• First, program the fixed position for
execution of abduction/adduction in
the anteversion/retroversion plane of
motion (motor A), and then deactivate
the motor.
• Subsequently, program the fixed posi-
tion for execution of abduction/adduc-
tion in the internal/external rotation
plane of motion (motor C), and then
deactivate the motor.
• Finally, program the range of motion
for abduction/adduction (motor B).
3. Save the settings with the STOP button,
set the device to the starting position
with the START button and initiate
therapy by pressing the START button
again.
Note!
• For an exclusive adduction/abduction
protocol, motors C (rotation) and A
(anteversion/retroversion) must be
switched off.
• Having programmed the ranges of
motion, you can program additional
options, such as pause or speed.
• The stop positions of the different
motors can also be adjusted when
they are deactivated.
5.4.2 Isolated internal/
external rotation
1. Complete the mechanical settings and
adjust the device to the patient as de-
scribed in section 4.2.
2. Then, program the fixed positions for
motors A (anteversion/retroversion) and
B (abduction/adduction) and the range
of motion for motor C (internal/external
rotation) as described in 5.1 in the follow-
ing order:
• First, program the fixed position for
execution of internal/external rotation
in the anteversion/retroversion plane
of motion (motor A), and then deacti-
vate the motor.
• Then, program the fixed position for
execution of internal/external rotation
in the abduction/adduction plane of
motion (motor B), and then deactivate
the motor.
• Finally, program the range of motion
for internal/external rotation (motor
C).
3. Save the settings with the STOP button,
set the device to the starting position
with the START button, and initiate
therapy by pressing the START button
again.
Note!
• For an exclusive internal/external
rotation protocol, motors B (abduc-
tion/adduction) and A (anteversion/
retroversion) must be switched off.
• Having programmed the ranges of
motion, you can program additional
options, such as pause or speed.
• The fixed stop positions of the differ-
ent motors can also be adjusted when
they are deactivated.
