Oscillation
The Oscillation pattern permits a more efficient therapy in the last 10° before the
maximum abduction, retroversion, and external rotation positions are reached.
For this exercise, the device begins at the starting position (maximum adduction,
midway between internal and external rotation, and midway between antever-
sion and retroversion).
First, the device moves simultaneously to the programmed maximum internal
rotation position and the programmed maximum anteversion position. Then, it
will move to the programmed maximum abduction position, at the same time as
the maximum external rotation and maximum retroversion position.
When the programmed abduction/external rotation position has been reached,
the device reverses 10° toward adduction as well as internal rotation and
anteversion, and then moves back again to the maximum abduction/external
rotation/retroversion position. The movement through the final 10° is performed
for the set number of cycles (5 to 20 times) at a slow speed.
At the end of the cycle, the device will again move to the programmed maxi-
mum adduction position, at the same time as the programmed maximum
internal rotation and anteversion positions, and then starts another cycle for the
set number of cycles through the last 10 ° of abduction.
This sequence can be repeated as often as needed. You can stop treatment
with the STOP button; after the programmed therapy duration, it will stop
automatically.
Default setting: disabled
To program the oscillation pattern, proceed as follows:
1. Program the range of motion as described in section 5.1.
2. Select the motion pattern in the "Expert" menu under "Therapy" by tapping
the appropriate symbol. The sub-menu for activation / deactivation of the
function will be displayed. The possible settings are displayed in gray.
3. Activate the function. The possible subsequent functions are displayed in
color.
4. Set the desired number of cycles (5 to 20).
5. Set the respective standby positions for the motors (parked position while
another motor is operating).
Default setting: 25%
6. If appropriate, set pauses, speed, or timer.
7. Press START to save the settings and start the treatment.
