3. Safety information

Definitions
Be sure to read the safety information be-
fore using the CPM device. The safety infor-
mation is classified as follows:
Danger!
m
indicates an imminent hazard. If not
avoided, this hazard will result in death or
serious injury.
Warning!
m
indicates a hazard. If not avoided, the
hazard can result in death or serious
injury.
Caution!
m
indicates a potential hazard. If not
avoided, this hazard may result in minor
injury and/or product/property damage.
Safety information
Danger!
m
Explosion hazard –
The ARTROMOT®-S4 is not designed for
use in areas of rooms used for medical
purposes where an explosion hazard may
occur. An explosion hazard may result
from the use of flammable anesthetics,
skin cleansing agents, and disinfectants.
Warning!
m
Patient hazard –
− The ARTROMOT®-S4 is not designed
for use in an oxygen-enriched
atmosphere.
− The ARTROMOT®-S4 is not designed
for use in combination with flammable
substances.
− Only authorized individuals are al-
lowed to operate the ARTROMOT®-S4.
Individuals are authorized after receiv-
ing training in the operation of the
device and reading these operating
instructions. All persons who have
undergone the appropriate training
can instruct users in the correct opera-
tion; alternatively, DJO offers training
worldwide; please contact your DJO
office or your local dealer for details
(see chapter 9 "Contact"). The train-
ing takes about 2 hours. Equipment
training should be repeated every 2
years (this is a recommendation, not a
requirement).
