RECORDING FROM THERADIO OR
CONNECTED EQUIPMENT
Preparation
• Wind up the tape to the pointwhere recordingwill start.
• Use a normal (type I) tape for recording.
1 Insert the tape to be recorded on into the deck.
Press the • EJECT mark to open the cassette holder.
Insert the tape with the side to be recorded on first facing you
and the exposed side down.
Push the cassette holderto close it.
2 Set DOLBY NR.
To recordwith DOLBY N R: Pressthe DOLBY NR buttontoturn
on the DD NR indicator.
To record withoutDOLBY NR: Press the DOLBY NR buttonto
turn the indicatoroff.
3 Set the reverse mode.
Each timethe REV MODE buttonis pressed,the reverse.mode
changes.
To record on one side only, turn on =.
To recordon both sides, turn on =).
4 Press the TUNER/BAND or VIDEO/AUX button to
select the source to be recorded from and
play
it.
5 Pressthe • REC/REC LIUTE button to start record-

Whenyouusetheremote control tostartrecording, firstpress
the Q/O REC/RECMUTE buttonand then pressthe 411_
button within 2 seconds,
To stop recording
Press the • button.
To pause recording
Press the
II
button.
To resume recording,press it again.
To insert 4-second blank spaces during recording
A 4-second blank space enables activationof the Music Sensor
function. (See page 40.)
To insert a blank space, press the • REC/REC MUTE button
during recordingor during a recordingpause.
RECORD inthe displayflashesfor4 secondsandthe deck pauses.
After 4 seconds,the I I buttonflashes. Press itto resumerecording.
To Insert a blank space of less than 4 seconds
After pressingthe • REC/REC MUTE button,press it again while
RECORD is blinkingto resume recording.
To Insert a blank space of more than 4 seconds
After the deck enters recording pause mode, press the • REC/
REC MUTE buttonagain. Each timeit ispressed,a4-second blank
space is added.
To ei'ase a recording
1 Insert the tape you want to erase into the deck.
2 Press the TAPE button.
3 Wind up the tape to the point where the erasure is to be started.
4 Set the reverse mode by pressing the REV MODE button.
5 Press the • REC/REC MUTE button to start the erasure.
