MICROPHONE MIXING
Up to two microphonescan be connectedto this unit,allowingyou
to singalong to music sources.
Use a microphonewith a mini (e3.5 rumple inches) plug.
Before connecting a microphone
Set the MIC MIXING controlto MIN.
1 Connect your microphone(s)
to the MIC jack(s).
2 Press
one of the function
buttons
to select the
source to be mixed, and play it,
3 Adjust the volume
and tone of the source.
4 Adjust the microphone
volume.
You can adjustjhe volumpofthe microphonesconnectedtothe
both of the MIC jacks by the MIC MIXING controlat the same
time.
To record microphone sound mixed with source sound
Followthe procedure for recordingfrom the source.
When not using the microphone
Set the MIC MIXING and DIGITAL ECHO control to MIN and
removethe microphone(s)from the MIC jack(s).

• If the microphoneis heldtoo near the speakers, a howlingsound
may be produced. In thiscase, hold the microphoneaway from
the speakers,or decrease the soundlevel usingthe MIC MIXING
control.
• If sound through the microphone is extremely loud, it may be
distorted. In thiscase, turnthe MIC MIXING controltowardMIN.
When connecting two microphones simultaneously
The use of unidirectionaltype microphones(Aiwa DM-H18, DM-
H15, etc.) is recommended to prevent howling.
USEFUL F UNCTIONS FOR
KARAOKE
This unit can use discs or tapes as Karaoke sources when you
select one of the KARAOKE functions by pressing the VOCAL
FADER/MULTIPLEX/OFF button.
Each time it is pressed, the function can be selected, in the order
shown in the illustration..-* _.
(_) To use ordinary discs or tapes, select the VOCAL FADER
function.
_) To use multi audio discs or tapes, select the MULTIPLEX
function.
In addition,youcan echo yourvoicebythe DIGITAL ECHO control.
To cancel the VOCAL FADER/MULTIPLEX
functions
Press the VOCAL FADER/MULTIPLEX button until /e
in the
displaygoes out. See the display (_).
Recording with the KARAOKE functions
You can record while usingthese functions.
