7.6 Connecting the CRI/CRIN and piezo
CRI
WARNING – Risk of injury!
If the hydraulic connections for the testing
equipment and the injectors are not set up
properly, test oil can escape at high pres-
sure during the test or parts of the testing
equipment can burst. This can cause injury
or damage to property.

Prior to switching on, check that all hose
assemblies have been properly connected
to the EPS 118 and the injector.
¶
Replace any leaking and defective hose
assemblies.
WARNING – Risk of hand injuries!
Uncontrolled closing of the protective hood
can lead to crushing or finger injury.
¶
Always close the protective hood using
the handle.
WARNING – Risk of burns from hot surfaces!
Contact with hot components and the hot
test equipment (e.g. injector) may cause
severe burns.
¶
Allow the components and test equipment
to cool down.
¶
Wear protective gloves.
DANGER – Risk of fatal injury from electro-
magnetic fields!
The high voltages at the piezo CRI (charging
of the actuators) and at the adapter cables
are a source of potential fatal injury for
persons wearing pace-makers are implanted
defibrillators.
¶
Piezo CRI testing may not be performed
by persons with pace-makers are implant-
ed defibrillators.

Do not check any damaged and/or severely corroded
components.
!
Use only for EPS 118 approved accessories. Using
accessories not intended for the EPS 118 can result
in incorrect measurements and thus a faulty evalua-
tion of the injector.

and adjusting the Bosch piezo CRI can be found in
the test instructions for piezo CRI in ESI[tronic] 2.0.
These test instructions do not form part of the scope
of delivery. ESI[tronic] 2.0 can not be installed on the
EPS 118.
