Transportation and installation
1. Remove the accessories box and packaging material
from the transport crate.
2. Remove the conveyor belt.
3. Remove the sidewalls from the transport crate.
i
Carefully lift the EPS 118 out of the box, and re-
move the Styrofoam plate on the bottom. The
approximate weight of the device is 64 kg, for this
purpose, two sets of hands are needed to lift the
EPS 118.
4. Carefully lift the EPS 118 out of the box with two
people and remove the Styrofoam plate on the bot-
tom.
5. Place the EPS 118 on a steady and level workbench
(600 mm x 600 mm).
6. The baseplate of the EPS 118 is sealed all the way
around and can hold up the test oil tank's entire
capacity if there is internal leakage. In order for the
test oil to drain, a hose (not included in the scope
of delivery) must be connected to the port on the
baseplate (fig. 24, item 1). The draining test oil must
be collected in an appropriate collecting container
and discarded.

!
The oil collecting container (fig. 24, item 3) must be
inspected daily in order to identify any leakage on
the inside of the EPS 118.
i
The EPS 118 must be horizontally positioned to
allow the test oil in the oil collecting trough of the
EPS 118 to drain through the hose.
7. Remove protective cover from the Display.
8. Remove the protective cap from the high-pressure
connection (fig. 3, item 2).
"
This completes installation of the EPS 118.
6.2
Electrical connection
!
The EPS 118 has a 5 A fuse. Note the information on
the rating plate on the rear of the EPS 118 and the
technical data in this manual (see sec. 10.1).
1. Switch off the power switch (see fig. 2, item 1).
2. Connect the power cord to the EPS 118.
3. Connect the power supply cable to the mains voltage
system.
6.3
Connection of compressed air
!
Always connect the EPS 118 to a purified and water
and oil free compressed air supply. The specifications
on the compressed air hose assemblies and distance
from the compressed air supply are described in the
chapter "Technical data" (see sec. 10.1).
i
A transparent bag is attached to the maintenance
unit that has a plug-in hose nipple for a quick lock
connection. Use this plug-in hose nipple for connect-
ing to the compressed air supply.
1. Connect the compressed air supply to the mainte-
nance unit of the EPS 118 (fig. 2, item 2).
2. Rectus port.
