This program allows measurement of angles even on vehicles equipped with especially low
spoilers which block measurement by the front and/or rear transverse goniometer.
If this condition occurs, before display of the "Rear axle measurement and adjustment window", the
screen shows the usual error page (fig. 33) indicating the measurements which are not possible.
The following conditions may occur:
1. Rear spoiler
The user may:
- press key F3 to continue. It will not be possible to calculate the rear axle set back;
- press key F7 to select the "Rear Spoiler program".
2. Front spoiler
The user may:
- press key F3 to continue. It will not be possible to calculate the front axle set-back;
- press key F6 to select the "Front Spoiler program".
3. Front and rear spoilers
The user must press F6 or F7 to select the spoiler program.
The user may choose to perform the spoiler program on the rear axle (by pressing key F7) or on
the front axle (by pressing key F6).
The spoiler program must be carried out, following the prompts which appear on the screen, as
described below:
Tilt the front or rear left-hand measuring head (depending on the chosen
-
procedure) until the infrared measuring beam is able to pass below the spoiler;
- Press key F3 to memorise the measuring head angle of inclination.
Tilt the front or rear right-hand measuring head (depending on the selected
-
procedure) as described above; obtaining this condition is assisted by the
movement of the cursor on the graduated scale shown on the screen, and
signalled by appearance of the "STOP" icon.
- Return the two measuring heads to the level condition
- Press key F3 to display the "Rear axle measurement and adjustment window".
If the infrared measuring beam is still obstructed after the second measuring head has been
tilted to the level indicated, the user must repeat the procedure, lowering the first measuring
head further and readjusting the position of the second measuring head. The program guides
the operator through the procedure with the same icons described above.
