Access the program, and position the measuring heads level as requested.
The procedure required can be selected using keys F6, F7, F8 and F9.
In these screens, data are only communicated between the central unit and measuring heads
by means of the wire connection; radio communications cannot be used.
The following keys are active in this screen:
- F1
displays the on-line "Help" function
- F2
returns to the previous window
- F5
displays the head test window
- F6
performs the zero calibration procedure.
- F7
performs the zero and inclinometer full scale calibration procedure.
- F8
performs the measuring head electronic calibration check.
- F9
performs the measuring head mechanical calibration check.
- F10 returns to the starting window.
Only the zero and inclinometer full scale calibration procedure (F7) is described below, because
it incorporates the zero calibration procedure.
Preliminary operations
- Place the stand in front of the central unit so that it is perfectly level and stable.
- Adjust the stand when perfectly levelled using the adjustable feet.
- Place the measuring heads on the stand, each in its correct position (fig. 43).
- Level the measuring heads using the special spirit level and then lock them into position.
- Switch on the measuring heads and the central unit.
- Connect the measuring heads together and to the central unit using the connection cables
- Select the calibration program.
You will be asked to confirm the selection made.
- Confirm by pressing key F3 (or abort with key F2).
Calibrations
The instructions below refer to the information provided in figure 43.
- Wait for the automatic zero setting of all transducers.
- Place the "high" shim under foot "3"
- Wait for the data acquisition
- Place two "high" shims under feet "1" and "2"
- Wait for the data acquisition
- Place the "low " shim under foot "3" and then the "medium" shim under foot "2"
- Wait for the data acquisition
- Position the "low" shim under foot "3" and the "medium" shim under foot "1"
- Wait for the data acquisition
- Place the "low" shim under foot "3"
- Place the "medium" shim under foot "1"
- Wait for the procedure to finish.
Warning !
All the data acquisition operations take place automatically if the transducer values fall within
the established tolerance range; if this is not the case, the procedure halts and signals the out-
of-range condition.
