The mixer Comp. Mixer (compensation mixer) is al-
ways available for model helicopters (
Mixers which vary according to servo assignment:
Gyro and TAIL are always present in models based
on the HELImech or HELIccpm templates, as the
TAIL servo and Gyro servo (for gyro gain control) are
included in the templates. However, if you remove the
Gyro and / or TAIL servos from the servo assignment,
the associated mixers also disappear from the menu.
The Rotor head mixer appears if you have selected
HELIccpm as template, or if the HEAD f/b (front / back)
servos have been assigned to the mixer:

Comp. Mixer (compensation mixer)

16.2.1.
This menu contains three transmitter control mixers.
In each case the Source is Roll, Pitch or Yaw ( Ai-
leron , Elevator , Rudder ).
As Target (destination) you can select from Roll,
Pitch, Yaw ( Aileron , Elevator , Rudder ),
and Collective pitch ( Collect. ):

Important: Roll and Pitch ( Aileron and Elevator )
work symmetrically, and are based on a V-curve!
The mixer always works in the same direction, regard-
less of the direction of movement of the roll or pitch
stick.
Typical application: the mixer is always required to
compensate for increased energy requirement by ap-
plying more throttle, regardless of whether the roll
command is to right or left.

Gyro (Gyro mixer)

16.2.2.
The gyro mixer included in the ROYAL
used for both fixed-wing model aircraft and helicop-
ters, provided that the gyro features an input for gain
adjustment from the transmitter.
The gyro mixer of the ROYAL
of setting the optimum stabilisation level of any model
axis under all flying conditions, using either simple gy-
ros or modern Heading gyros. The gyro mixer of the

can be set to suit the two gyro types
Damping and Heading :
In the case of model helicopters it is assumed that the
vertical axis (yaw / tail rotor) is stabilised using a gyro
system.
The following table lists the characteristics of the two
gyro systems in common use today:
Damping gyro
(normal gyro)
The gyro brakes the rotational
movement of the model
around the axis to which the
stabilisation is applied.

Heading gyro
(heading-lock gyro)
The gyro brakes the rotational
movement of the model around
the axis to which the stabilisa-
tion is applied, and also returns
the model to its initial heading.
The prefix to the gain setting
determines whether the gyro
works in "damping" mode or
"heading-lock" mode.
