(ind. 10), tighten the connector lock nut (ind. 11) then
lock securely using a spanner.
b. Connect the quick connector (Fig. 1/2 ind. J) to the
GB
INRS shock absorber (Fig. 1/2 ind. D) in the half-
shell (ind. 1) and replace the shell axis (ind. 5) and
split ring (ind. 6).
c. Check that the quick connector link (Fig. 1/2 ind. J)
moves freely in the half-shell (ind. 1) and the split
ring (ind. 6) is engaged.
 Installation is complete.
6.9.3. Installation on the indicator
The following assembly procedure refers to Figure 20
on page 11:
a. Locate the quick connector (Fig. 1/2 ind. J) in one of
the two mooring loops of the INRS shock absorber
(ind. 10), without tightening the connector lock nut
(ind. 11).
b. Locate the quick connector (Fig. 1/2 ind. J) joined
to the INRS shock absorber (Fig. 1/2 ind. (J) in the
hole at the end of the indicator (ind. 8), tighten the
connector lock nut (ind. 11) then lock securely using
a spanner.
c. Check that the quick connector link (Fig. 1/2 ind. (J)
moves freely in the hole in the end of the indicator
(ind. 8).
 Installation is complete.
6.9.4. Installation on the end anchor
The following assembly procedure refers to Figure 21
on page 11:
a. Loosen the lock nut (ind. 11) from the quick link
connector (Fig. 1/2, ind. J) fixed to the end anchor
(Fig. 1/2 ind. A).
b. Insert one of the two INRS shock absorber mooring
loops (ind. 10) into the quick link connector (Fig. 1/2,
ind. (J) tighten the connector lock nut (ind. 11) then
lock securely using a spanner.
 Installation is complete.

6.10. Installation of the cable
6.10.1. General
The travflex™ 2 lifeline cable (Fig. 1/2, ind. G) is
moored on sleeved end to the INRS shock absorber
(Fig. 1/2 ind. D) in place on the end anchor (Fig. 1/2
ind. A) through a quick link connector (Fig. 1/2, ind. J)
30
which comes with the shock absorber, and the other is
moored on the INRS shock absorber (Fig. 1/2 ind. D)
located on the tensioner side (Fig. 1/2 ind. B) using the
corner unit supplied with the cable (Fig. 1/2, ind. H).
As Standard delivery, the travflex™ 2 lifeline cable
(Fig. 1/2, ind. G) comes wound on a steel drum or reel
box and accompanied by a corner unit (Fig. 1/2 ind. H)
placed in a polyethylene bag and fixed to the reel or
drum.
Standard delivery, corner unit (Fig. 1/2 ind. H) is
provided with its mooring axis and the protective cap on
the- end of the cable.
6.10.2. Installing sleeved loop side.
The following assembly procedure refers to Figure 22
on page 11:
a. Insert the sleeved end of the cable (ind. 12) into the
quick link connector (Fig. 1/2 ind. J) on the INRS
shock absorber (Fig. 1/2 ind. D)
b. Tighten the connector lock nut (ind. 11) then lock
securely using a spanner.
 Installation is complete.
6.10.3. Installation on the anchors
Insert the free end of the cable (ind. 9) through the
intermediate anchors (Fig. 1/2 ind. E) and, where
appropriate, through the bend anchors (Fig. 1/2, ind. I)
in compliance with sections 7.5 and 7.6.
"NOTE": For greater lengths, we recommend
that you use a "TIRVIT™" cable tensioner to achieve
pre-tension. Use a dynamometer to check that the
tension force is not more than 100 daN.
"IMPORTANT": A strain of over 100 daN could
lead to distortion of the shock absorbers, the bend or
end anchors. Where a shock absorber, a bend anchor
bend or end anchor has suffered deformation due to
excessive tension, it must be replaced.
 Installation is complete.
6.10.4. Corner unit installation
The following installation procedure refers to Figure 23
on page 12:
a. Remove the corner (ind. 2) after removing the
retaining wire (ind. 4).
b. Insert the free end of the cable (ind. 9) through
the input hole and the cable output (ind. 5) located
opposite the mooring axis (ind. 3).
c. Form a loop with the cable (ind. 7) and reintroduce
the free end of the cable (ind. 9) into the unit (ind. 1)
and then out through the cable input and output
(ind. 5).
