Furthermore, there is an Emergency Stop Button on the right hand
side of the cabinet, that stops the hydraulic pump and the robots.
On some of the earlier production units, it also stops the probes.
Anyway, please use this one only in case of urgent need, to
prevent damage from happening.
If the Alignment system is electrically supplied by a
removable three phase plug, please ensure that all wall
outlets have the same phase sequence, or none of the
hydraulic functions will work.
The third image on the previous page shows a hidden rotary
switch that is normally not used. This one will manually unlock all
four plates. Whenever you use this function, make sure to put the
switch back in ‚locked' position.

Hydraulic Block

In the lower part of the cabinet, there is the hydraulic pump with
its oil reservoir, and on top a block of various hydraulic valves. This
hydraulic assemly is used twofold: to operate the lift, and for
moving the plates that the car is standing on, used for automatic
runout compensation during the process. Both hydraulic move-
ments have to be perfectly synchronized. This is provided by the
intelligent CLT Plate/Lift controller system.

Intelligent Lift Control CLT

This is one of the most advanced lift control systems in the world.
Next to lifting, lowering and equalizing the two halves of the lift,
actuated from the control panel in the upper part of the cabinet,
there are various configurable special functions like e.g. program-
mable maximum height, CE-Stop, and all kinds of other parame-
ters that can be changed by an authorized service technician by
use of the PC.
The Plate/Lift controller is directly actuating a set of hydraulic
proportional valves, using them as well to react to commands from
the control panel for lifting functions, and to requests from the
software to move the plates. For both actions, there are adequate
positioning systems in place that report the actual position of the
cylinder in question back to the Controller via CAN-Bus.
Also, with the ‚Safety Star System' SST, there is a very innovative,
combined positioning and safety system in place, which acts at
the same time to measure precisely the height of each runway,
and to lock it in every height, not only in some special positions like
on most of the lifts. Main functional part of this is a big nut on a
spindle that is mounted on top of each lifting cylinder. This one has
a special magnetic strip around it, and there are hall effect sensors
that can measure the rotation of the nut.

Lift Operation

Whenever handling the lift, you have to follow the safety
instructions carefully that are in chapters 1 and 2!
