Print / Save

In all cases, you can print the results, independent form the fact
whether you filled in a job record or not. Simply press the button
with the printer symbol.
But, if you did put in at least the licence plate number, the
customer name, and something for the VIN, you will be allowed to
save that job record including the results. This means that you will
be able at all times later on to review the results. Also, this will
permit to select that job record from the list, and start one more
measurement, e.g. when the customer comes the next year. This
saves the hassle of vehicle type selection from the databank, and
of reentering the customer information.
Please note that there is a selection button ‚Printout Type' on top
of the menu. That one allows to select whether you want to have
the simple one-page alphanumerical printout, or whether you
would like to have the chassis situation with the body values, or/
and the yellow graph of the data summary printed as well. The
button does this selection on a one time basis. In the setup, you
can make the same selection permanent.
As soon as you're finished with everything, press the ‚Home'
button (the button with the small house on top of the menu). The
probes will take the coloured stripes image away. The robots will
go back to the initial position. The plates will be locked. You can
take out the brake pedal depressor, the steering wheel holder,
and - if applicable - the targets for the wheel rotation angle. Only
afterr that, drive the car carefully off the lift.
For safety reasons, do always have a second person
assist you from outside the car, giving signs. This way,
you can make sure that you do not fall off the lift or
ramps, and that the car does not hit any other objects.

Shutting down the system

At the end of the working day, or whenever electricity has to be
turned off, please shut the system down ONLY FOLLOWING
THE PROCEDURE DESCRIBED HERE.
Please avoid under all circumstances to shut electricity
off without the system being properly shut down. You
would be risking damage to PC and projector hard-
ware.

To shut down, you should check first that you saved data that you
wanted to save, and that no other programs on the PC besides the
Aligner system are still open. SMI, the utility program that is always
open in the background, does not need to be shut down manually.
From the start screen of the aligner program, you press the black
button ‚Shut Down PC', and confirm by clicking ‚Yes' when
prompted to do so.
Then it will take a while, during which the Aligner's system settings
are being saved. At the same time, the probes do initiate their
shutdown sequence. First, you will see the light blue light on the
left top inside the probe shut off. Some time later, the embedded
PCs will shut down. You can tell by the yellow LEDs on the PC
housing. The embedded PC is off, when there is only the one
yellow LED at the bottom still on.
