5.9.l. X axis calibration
This operation must ONLY be performed by au-
thorised personnel in the following cases:
1. Replacing the x-axis potentiometer
2. Increase or decrease the rim-demounting tool
distance set during previous calibration
PROCEDURE:
1. Mount the calibration template on the wheel
support plate and lock it in place with the cone
without a plastic guard. Position it as shown in
Fig. 46
2. Access the SERVICE menu and select X AXIS
CALIBRATION X (Fig. 46a). The calibration
window opens (Fig. 46b).
3. Press RESET to cancel the previous calibration
data.
4. Select 32" (selection is highlighted with a green
border.
5. Position the demounting tool as shown in
fi g. 46c and use a feeler gauge to measure the
distance between the tool and the template,
which must be 3-3.5 mm.
6. Press . The number 32 turns GREEN if
the position is correct. If not, the number turns
RED and the message "Calibration failed" is
displayed.
7. Lift the demounting tool.
8. Select 17" (selection is highlighted with a green
border).
9. Position the demounting tool as shown in
fi g. 46d and use a feeler gauge to measure the
distance between the tool and the template,
which must be 3-3.5 mm.
10. Press . If the position is correct, the number 17 turns GREEN and the message
