FUEL AND LUBRICATION SYSTEM
FUEL TANK AND FUEL COCK
The fuel tank is equipped with a tank cap, a fuel
cock and a fuel filter. The tank cap has an air vent
which allows gasoline to flow to the carburettors
smoothly. The fuel cock construction is as shown
in the illustrations. The fuel cock has three posi-
tions, OFF, ON and RES, each of which can be se-
lected by operating the cock lever. With the lever
in ON position (normal), the main passage opens.
With the lever in RES position, an auxiliary passa-
ge opens for supplying reserve fuel. With the lever
in the OFF position, both of the passages are clo-
sed.

MAINTENANCE
The fuel filter will collect foreign particles, and the-
refore must be periodically checked and cleaned.
The fuel tank should be cleaned at the same time
the fuel filter is being cleaned.
INSPECTION
If the fuel leaks from around the fuel cock, the ga-
sket may be damaged. Visually inspect the gasket,
and replace it if necessary. Examine the air vent in
the fuel tank cap to see if it is obstructed. Use com-
pressed air to clean an obstructed vent.

El depósito del combustible está equipado con un
tapón, un grifo y un filtro. El tapón del depósito tie-
ne un purgador que deja salir muy lentamente el
combustible hacia los carburadores. El grifo ilu-
strado en el dibujo tiene tres posiciones (OFF, ON,
RES) que se pueden seleccionar tocando la palan-
ca del grifo. Con la palanca en la posición ON (nor-
mal), se abre el paso principal. Si la palanca está
en la posición RES, se abre un paso auxiliar, que
proporciona la reserva de combustible. Con la pa-
lanca en la posición OFF, los dos pasos están cer-
rados.

MANTENIMIENTO
El filtro del combustible detiene las impurezas, por
lo tanto, tiene que ser controlado y limpiado perió-
dicamente. Cuando se limpia el filtro del combusti-
ble, se tendría que limpiar también el depósito del
combustible.
CONTROL
Si hay pérdidas de combustible en la zona del
grifo, podría ser que la guarnición estuviese daña-
da. Controlar visualmente la guarnición y substi-
tuirla si es necesario. Controlar que el purgador
del tapón del depósito no esté obturado. Para de-
satascar el orificio obturado hay que usar el aire
comprimido.
