PERIODIC MAINTENANCE AND
TUNE-UP PROCEDURES
EXHAUST MANIFOLD NUTS
Tighten the exhaust pipe nuts to the specified
torque.
Tightening torque: 18 – 28 Nm (1,8 – 2,8 kgm)
CYLINDER HEAD, CYLINDER AND
MUFFLER
Clean every 6.000 km (or 12 months).
Carbon deposits in the combustion chamber of
the cylinder head and at the piston crown will
raise the compression ratio and may cause
preignition or overheating.
Carbon deposited at the exhaust port of the
cylinder will prevent the flow of exhaust gas,
reducing the output. Remove carbon deposits
periodically.
AIR FILTER
Clean every 4.000 km. Change every 12.000
km.
Remove the driving seat.
Remove the fuel tank.
Remove the filter case cover, loosening the 8
screws.
Remove the air filter element and the grid.
Wash

air filter element with suitable clean
solvents, non-inflammable and with a low vo-
latility level, and then allow to dry
ghly.
Apply

a filter oil all over the surface, then
wring

to eliminate all excess oil. The filter
element must be well soaked but must not
drip.
Replace the filter element in its housing with
the grid and reassemble the filter case cover.

Limpiar las incrustaciones cada 6.000 kms
(o 12 meses).
FILTRO DEL AIRE
Limpiar cada 4.000 kms. Substituir cada
12.000 kms.

Apretar las tuercas de los colectores de escape
al par establecido.
Los depósitos carbonosos en las cámaras de
combustión de las culatas y de las cabezas de
los pistones aumentan la relación de compre-
sión y pueden causar autoencendidos y reca-
lentamientos.
Los depósitos carbonosos acumulados en las
lumbreras de descarga impiden la salida de los
gases de escape, causando una pérdida de po-
tencia. Deben ser eliminados con regularidad.
Quitar el sillín del piloto.
Quitar el depósito del combustible.
Quitar la tapa de la caja del filtro, desenroscan-
do los 8 tornillos.
Extraer el elemento filtrante y la redecilla.
Lavar

el elemento filtrante con disolventes
adecuados limpios, no inflamables o con alto
índice de volatilidad, y secarlo
do.
Aplicar

sobre toda la superficie un aceite
para filtros, escurrirlo bien
aceite excesivo. El elemento filtrante debe
estar bien impregnado, pero no tiene que go-
tear.
Volver a poner el elemento filtrante en su aloja-
miento con la redecilla y volver a montar la ta-
pa de la caja del filtro.
