Chapter 9 Troubleshooting

Vacuum-error

If the vacuum is not established within about two seconds after the activation of the vacu-
um generator (venturi) this error will occur.

Possible causes: The input pressure is too low to generate a sufficient vacuum for the
venturi. A peeled-off label cannot be properly sucked onto the tamp pad. In this case, the
holes in the tamp pad cannot be completely covered by the label.
A vacuum loss can also arise through a defective line (e.g. defective venturi, vacuum
monitor under 3 bar, defective solenoid valves).
Solutions: Check the input pressure of the compressed air (min. 4 bar). Check the label
routing or a possible display message on the printer, and remedy the problem on the ba-
sis of the operator manual of the print module. Clean the tamp pad so that the label co-
vers all drilled holes. Contact our service hotline by telephone (see page 6).

Trigger-error

Configuration: [SW4] = ON (setting the status monitoring of the trigger signal)
The labeller will enter the error state, if the vacuum stamp hasn't reached the base/home
position when the trigger signal is executed.

Possible causes: The product spacing is too short. Reflective products generate a double
triggering through the product light barrier.
Solutions: Check the belt speed of the conveyor route. Increase the distance of the prod-
uct. Check the photocell and the reflector. The product sensor is possibly not optimal for
the product surface.
