Chapter 2 Safety regulations

Sources of danger on the labeller

The following dangers can emanate from the labeller:
Danger of crushing and cutting between the dispensing tamp and the parts of the
labeller, especially in the area of ...
peel bar print module,
Machine frame (applicator attachment, base plate,...).
Regarding the forces which occur at the dispensing tamp for applicators which have a
pneumatic drive, the force applied for both movements is limited to 50 Newton. Possible
risks of injury for people may therefore be considered low (usually reversible) (does not
apply for Wipe-On systems).
Therefore, no special protective measures (such as grids, protective enclosure...) are re-
quired for the Legi-Air 2050.
The limitation of the dispensing tamp power to 50 Newton is facilitated through a throttle
valve of the of internal pneumatic circuit.

Protective device

Danger points can develop at the transition areas of the customer-side conveying sys-
tems. Appropriate protection measures according to the machinery directive 2006/42/EG
must be implemented.

Separating and non-separating protective devices

The labelling system doesn't require any additional protective device for the operation.
The installation of additional protective devices is the operator's responsibility, and must
comply with the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC.

Machine cover

The fixed and bolted machine covers protect the user against mechanical risks.
