The SERVOX digital XL strap set, allows the SERVOX
®
neck. The carrying strap is inserted underneath the titanium sleeve and secured with the strap protec-
tor. One end of the strap protector is bevelled, the other end is U-shaped.
 Remove titanium sleeve
Remove the strap protector from the recess in the top of the device

 Put the fastener of the carrying strap with the welded end into the recess at the top
 Place the strap in the notch.
 Finish by placing the strap protector upside down with the "U-end" over the strap and press it
tight
 Then slide the titanium sleeve back onto the speech aid. If the titanium sleeve does not slide on
easily, check the fit of the strap protector and correct it if necessary
If no carrying strap is used, the strap protector should be inserted into the top of the device with the
bevelled end so that the opening is closed and no dirt can enter the inside of the housing.
7.4 SERVOX ® digital XL belt pouch

Store the belt pouch in a dry and dust-free place and dispose of it in the household waste when damaged or worn out
7.5 Batteries, charger and travel adapter (optional)
The batteries can be charged via the battery charger. A travel adapter is included for using the charger with different types of sockets. Always
follow the manufacturer's instructions, information and safety instructions for all accessories.
7.6 SERVOX digital XL software/SERVOX digital XL data cable (can be ordered)

In addition to the SERVOX digital XL speech aid, software (CD SERVOX
®
can be ordered separately for professional adjustment of the speech melody by medical personnel. Adjustment of the speech melody can be
done in a speech therapy session.
8 Cleaning/disinfection
Attention
•
Never immerse the SERVOX ® digital XL speech aid in liquids!
•
Do not allow any liquids to get inside the SERVOX ® digital XL speech aid!
•
Do not clean the SERVOX ® digital XL speech aid with aggressive cleaning agents or aggressive household products!
•
Do not use the SERVOX digital XL speech aid until it is completely dry!

•
The inside of the SERVOX digital XL screw cap should not be touched or get wet or come into contact with alcohol.

Note
• Before first use, before prolonged storage and after prolonged non-use, the SERVOX® digital XL speech aid, screw caps and
oral tubes must be cleaned/disinfected.
• Clean or disinfect the SERVOX digital XL screw cap only when screwed onto the speech aid.

8.1 Methods used

8.2 SERVOX digital XL speech aid and SERVOX digital XL screw caps

 To clean before first use and daily, wipe thoroughly with a soft, lint-free cloth moistened with water and a few drops of commercial
dishwashing detergent (not wet or dripping) and dry with a soft lint-free cloth.
 To disinfect, wipe thoroughly with a soft, lint-free cloth moistened with 94 % alcohol
 Then dry thoroughly with a soft lint-free cloth or allow to air dry completely.
When cleaning and disinfecting, be sure to also thoroughly wipe the gaps between the screw cap and the speech aid and between the screw
cap rim and the membrane, the insert for the carrying strap and around the buttons and volume control to remove any residues of skin grea-
se, skin particles, microorganisms or other dirt. Do not allow any liquid to get inside the SERVOX
Battery contacts
 Monthly check the battery contacts inside the speech aid and on the battery holder for corrosion or dirt.
 Gently and gently wipe dirty or corroded battery contacts with a cotton swab moistened with 94 % alcohol (not dripping) and allow to
dry completely.

8.3 SERVOX® digital XL oral tubes and adapter
Disassemble SERVOX ® digital XL oral tubes and SERVOX ® digital XL adapter before cleaning and disinfecting. Both must be completely dry
before use.
Adapter
 To clean, place in water with a few drops of washing-up liquid once a day and wipe the outside with a lint-free, soft cloth, the inside
carefully with a cotton bud and then rinse with clear water and leave to dry completely standing on a paper towel.
For disinfection, wipe thoroughly once a day after cleaning inside and out with a soft, lint-free cloth moistened with 94 % alcohol. Wipe
inside with a cotton swab moistened with 94 % alcohol and then rinse thoroughly with clear water and allow to dry completely while
standing on a paper towel.
Oral tube
 To clean, wipe the top end of the tube thoroughly once a day with a soft, lint-free cloth moistened with water and a few drops of com-
mercial dishwashing detergent, then rinse the entire tube thoroughly with warm, clear water and leave to dry completely on a paper
towel.
 For disinfection, boil the cleaned oral tube without adapter once a day in a pot for 5 minutes in clear water and let it dry completely
standing on a paper towel. For the long oral tube, remove the attachment before boiling. Thoroughly wipe the disinfection attachment
with a cotton swab soaked in 94 % alcohol, rinse thoroughly with clean water and allow to dry completely on a
paper towel.
8.4 SERVOX ® digital XL belt pouch and SERVOX ® digital XL strap set
The carrying strap must be removed from the SERVOX ® digital XL speech aid must be removed for cleaning. All items must be removed from
the belt pouch beforehand.
SERVOX digital XL belt pouch or SERVOX digital XL carrying strap should be soaked in warm water with a few drops of dishwashing
® ®
detergent and washed regularly, at least when dirty. Then rinse the belt pouch or carrying strap thoroughly with clear water and allow to dry
completely.
9 Maintenance and repair
With correct use, no regular maintenance is necessary. Repairs may only be carried out by specialist personnel authorised by Orbisana Health-
care GmbH.
Should maintenance or repair be necessary, the SERVOX digital XL must be cleaned and disinfected and sent together with a description of

the fault, a copy of the invoice, the charger and the batteries in the original packaging to the local Orbisana Healthcare sales partner or, if the
device was purchased directly from Orbisana Healthcare, to Orbisana Healthcare GmbH.
10 Operation, storage and transport
Store or transport the SERVOX ® digital XL and the accessories contained inside it in a clean, dry environment free of dust and protected from
light.

11 Period of use and disposal
The SERVOX ® digital XL as well as the charger and travel adapter are subject to EC Directive 2012/19/EU (WEEE) and, like rechargeable batte-
ries and batteries, must not be disposed of with normal household waste. For disposal, collection points have been set up at the public waste
management authorities (municipalities) to take back old appliances from private households free of charge. Batteries and rechargeable batte-
ries are taken back free of charge by retailers.
