OPERACIONES DE MANTENIMIENTO PERIÓDICO Y DE
PUESTA A PUNTO
2.13 CAMBIO DEL ACEITE MOTOR Y DEL
FILTRO DEL ACEITE DEL MOTOR
Lea con mucha atención 1.2.2 (ACEITE DEL MO-
TOR) y 1.4 (PRECAUCIONES E INFORMACIONES GE-
NERALES).
Sustitúya tras los primeros 1000 km (o 4 meses) y luego
cada 6000 km (o 12 meses).

Utilizando el vehículo en zonas polvorientas,
es aconsejable cambiar el aceite más frecuen-
temente.
Tras un largo período de uso, el aceite motor se deteriora
y acelera el desgaste de las superficies acopladas y de
deslizamiento. Cámbielo periódicamente, realizando las
siguientes operaciones:
Pare el motor y déjelo enfriar al menos por diez minu-
tos para permitir el drenaje del aceite en el cárter y el
enfriamiento del aceite mismo.
Arranque el motor y déjelo funcionar al ralentí de las
revoluciones por algunos minutos, de esta manera el

aceite saldrá más fácil durante el drenaje sucesivo.
Coloque el vehículo sobre un suelo firme y lla-
no.
Mantenga el vehículo en posición vertical, con las dos
ruedas apoyadas sobre el suelo.

El motor caliente contiene aceite muy calien-
te, por lo tanto, tenga cuidado en no quemar-
se durante las operaciones sucesivas.
Desenrosque y extraiga el tapón-varilla de medida (1).
Desmonte del protector, véase 7.1.9 (DESMONTAJE
PROTECTOR DE CARTER).
Coloque un recipiente (2) con capacidad no inferior a
2500 cmC en correspondencia con el tapón de vaciado
(3) sobre el bastidor.
Desenrosque y quite el tapón de vaciado (3) sobre el
bastidor.
Vacíe y deje gotear el aceite dentro del recipiente (2)
por algunos minutos.
Controle y si acaso sustituya la arandela de estanquei-
dad del tapón de vaciado (3) sobre el bastidor.
Enrosque y apriete el tapón de vaciado (3) sobre el
bastidor.
Par de apriete tapón de vaciado (3) sobre el bastidor:
27 Nm (2,7 kgm).
Desplace el recipiente (2) y póngalo por debajo de la
base del motor, en correspondencia con el tapón de
vaciado sobre el motor (4).
Desenrosque y quite el tapón de vaciado sobre el mo-
tor (4).
Vacíe y deje gotear el aceite dentro del recipiente (2)
por algunos minutos.
NE ESPARZA EL ACEITE EN EL AMBIENTE.
Limpie los residuos metálicos pegados al imán del ta-
pón de vaciado (4).
Controle y si acaso sustituya la arandela de estanquei-
dad del tapón de vaciado (4).
Sustituya la arandela de estanqueidad del tapón de
vaciado (4) cada 12000 km (o cada dos veces que se
sustituye el aceite motor).
Enrosque el tapón de vaciado (4) y apriételo.
Par de apriete tapón de vaciado sobre el motor (4):
40 Nm (4 kgm).

Read carefully 1.2.2 (ENGINE OIL) and 1.4 (PRECAU-
TIONS AND GENERAL INFORMATION).
Change it after the first 1000 km (or 4 months) and suc-
cessively every 6000 km (or 12 months).

We recommend changing the oil more fre-
quently if vehicle is used in dusty areas.
After a long period of use, engine oil deteriorates and
hastens the wear of sliding or connecting surfaces.
Change engine oil periodically, proceeding as follows:
Switch off engine and let it cool down for at least 10
minutes, thus allowing the oil to flow back into the oil
pan and cool down.
Start the engine and let it idle for a few minutes to facil-
itate the flow of oil into the oil pan during the succes-

sive phase of draining.
Position the vehicle on firm and flat ground.
Keep vehicle in a vertical position with the two wheels
resting on the ground.

When warmed up, the engine contains very
hot oil; pay particular attention not to be burnt
during the course of the following operations.
Unscrew and extract the plug/dipstick (1).
Remove the oil pan, see 7.1.9 (REMOVING THE OIL
PAN GUARD).
Put a container (2) with at least 2500 cmC capacity in
correspondence with the drain plug (3) on the frame.
Unscrew and remove the drain plug (3) positioned on
the frame.
Drain the oil and let it drip into the container (2) for a
few minutes.
Check and if necessary change the sealing washer of
the drain plug (3) positioned on the frame.
Screw and tighten the drain plug (3) positioned on the
frame.
Driving torque of the drain plug (3) positioned on the
frame: 27 Nm (2.7 kgm).
Move the container (2) and position it under the engine
base, in correspondence with the drain plug positioned
on the engine (4).
Unscrew and remove the drain plug positioned on the
engine (4).
Drain the oil and let it drip inside the container (4) for a
few minutes.
DO NOT DISPOSE OF ENGINE OIL IN THE ENVIRON-
MENT.
Remove the metal residues from the drain plug (4)
magnet.
Check and if necessary replace the sealing washer of
the drain plug (4).
Change the sealing washer of the drain plug (4) every
12000 km (or every second engine oil change).
Screw and tighten the drain plug (4).
Driving torque of the drain plug (4) positioned on the
engine: 40 Nm (4 kgm).
