OPERACIONES DE MANTENIMIENTO PERIÓDICO Y DE
PUESTA A PUNTO
2.23 NEUMÁTICOS
Lea con mucha atención 1.4 (PRECAUCIONES E IN-
FORMACIONES GENERALES).
Controle las condiciones tras los primeros 1000 km (o 4
meses) y, sucesivamente, cada 6000 km (o 8 meses).
La presión de inflado debe controlarse todos los meses y
a temperatura ambiente.
2.23.1 CONDICIONES DE LA BANDA DE
RODAMIENTO

Controle el estado superficial y el desgaste,
ya que una mala condición de los neumáticos
compromete la adherencia al pavimento y la
maniobrabilidad del vehículo.
Substituya el neumático si el mismo está gastado o
si hay un pinchazo más ancho de 5 mm en la zona de
la banda de rodamiento.
Límite de la profundidad de la banda de rodamiento
Delantera: 2 mm
Trasera: 2 mm
2.23.2 PRESIÓN DE INFLADO

Controle periódicamente la presión de inflado
de los neumáticos a la temperatura ambiente.
La medición será incorrecta si los neumáticos
están calientes. Sobretodo, efectúe la medición lue-
go de cada viaje largo.
Si la presión de inflado es demasiado alta, las irregu-
laridades del terreno no serán amortiguadas y, por lo
tanto, serán transmitidas al manillar, compromen-
tiendo el confort de la marcha y reduciendo también
la adherencia en curva. Si al contrario, la presión de
inflado es insuficiente, los flancos del neumático tra-
bajarán más, y la goma podría resbalar o salirse de la
llanta, provocando la pérdida de control del vehículo.
Además, en el caso de frenadas bruscas, los neumá-
ticos podrían salir de la llanta. Para concluir, en las
curvas el vehículo podría derrapar.
Presión de inflado
Delantero: 180 kPa (1,8 bar)
Trasero: 190 kPa (1,9 bar)
(cargado totalmente 220 kPa (2,2 bar)

Tras haber reparado un neumático, haga equi-
librar la rueda.
Controle que las válvulas de inflado tengan
los taponcitos para evitar que los neumáticos se des-
inflen improvisamente. Las substituciones, repara-
ciones, mantenimiento y equilibrado son muy impor-
t a n t e s ; d e b e n r e a l i z a r s e c o n h e r r a m i e n t a s
adecuadas y con la experiencia necesaria. Si los neu-
máticos son nuevos, pueden estar recubiertos con
una película resbaladiza, por lo tanto, conduzca con
cuidado durante los primeros kilómetros. No moje
los neumáticos con líquidos no idóneos.

Los neumáticos estándar montados en este
vehículo son 100/90-19 57H (delantero) y
130/80-R17 65H (trasero).
La medida de los neumáticos está indicada en la do-
cumentación del vehículo y cualquier diferencia pue-
de ser punible por la Ley.
El empleo de neumáticos con dimensiones diferen-
tes puede causar la inestabilidad del vehículo, com-
prometiendo la maniobrabilidad y la seguridad en la
conducción.
Utilice exclusivamente los neumáticos escogidos ini-
cialmente por aprilia.

2.23 TYRES
Read 1.4 carefully (PRECAUTIONS AND GENERAL
INFORMATION).
Check condition of tyres after the first 1000 km (or 4
months) and then after every 6000 km (or 8 months).
The inflation pressure must be checked every month and
at room temperature.
2.23.1 CONDITION OF TREAD

Check the surface of tyres and their wear in as
a faulty condition of the tyres compromises
their grip as well as the manoeuvrability of the
vehicle.
Change the tyre if worn or if an eventual puncture in
the area of the tread is larger than 5 mm.
Limit of tread thickness
Front: 2 mm
Rear: 2 mm
2.23.2 INFLATION PRESSURE

Periodically check the pressure of the tyres at
room temperature. If the tyres are hot, the
measurement is not correct.
Measure pressure without fail after every long jour-
ney.
If the inflation pressure is too high, the bumps in the
road/ground are not absorbed and are therefore
transmitted to the handlebar, compromising the com-
fort of the drive as well as reducing roadholding in
curves.
If, contrarily, the inflation pressure is insufficient, the
sides of the tyres are more exposed and may slip on
the rim or even become detached from it, with the
consequent loss of control of the vehicle.
In case of abrupt braking, the tyres can come away
from the rims.
Moreover the vehicle may easily skid in curves.
Inflation pressure
Front: 180 kPa (1.8 bar)
Rear: 190 kPa (1.9 bar)
(at full load 220 kPa (2.2 bar)

After repairing a tyre, have the wheel bal-
anced.
Make sure the tyres always have their valve
sealing caps to prevent them from suddenly going
flat. The operations of changing, repairing, mainte-
nance and balancing are very important and must be
performed with the proper equipment and necessary
experience.
When tyres are new they may still be covered with a
slippery film therefore drive carefully for the first kilo-
metres. Do not oil tyres with unsuitable liquids.

This vehicle is equipped with standard tyres
100/90-19 57H (front) and 130/80-R17 65H
(rear). The size of the tyres is indicated in the
log-book and any dissimilarity is punishable by law.
Using tyres with different dimensions may cause the
instability of the vehicle, endangering its driving
safety and manoeuvrability.
Use only tyres recommended by aprilia.
