Controle que los terminales (1) de los cables y los bor-

nes);
– recubiertos con grasa especial o vaselina.

Desconecte antes el cable negativo (–) y luego el posi-
tivo (+).
Cepille con una escobilla de alambre metálico para eli-
minar todo residuo de corrosión.
Vuelva a conectar antes el cable negativo (+) y luego
el positivo (–).
Recubra los terminales y los bornes con grasa especial
o vaselina.

Conecte el tubo respiradero.

Conecte siempre el respiradero de la batería para evi-
tar que los vapores del ácido sulfúrico, al salir del res-
piradero, puedan corroer la instalación eléctrica, las
partes pintadas, las piezas de goma o las juntas.
Conecte en este orden el cable positivo (+) y el negati-
vo (–).
Recubra los terminales y los bornes con grasa especial
o vaselina.
Vuelva a instalar la tapa de inspección trasera, véase
pág. 37 (DESMONTAJE TAPA DE INSPECCION
TRASERA).

Make sure that the cable terminals (1) and the battery
terminals (2) are:
– in good conditions (and not corroded or covered with
deposits);
– covered with special grease or Vaseline.
If necessary:

Brush with a wire brush to eliminate any sign of corro-
sion.
Reconnect first the positive (+) and then the negative
cable (–).
Cover the terminals with special grease or Vaseline.

Connect the breather pipe.

Always connect the battery breather pipe, to prevent
the sulphuric acid vapours from corroding the elec-
tric system, painted parts, rubber elements or gas-
kets when they exit the breather pipe itself.
Connect, in order, the positive (+) and negative (–) ca-
ble.
Cover the terminals with special grease or Vaseline.
Put back the rear inspection cover, see p. 37 (REMOV-
ING THE REAR INSPECTION COVER).
