Port RS-485 Communication Functions
10.4 MASTER MODBUS RTU
The MU function enables a Modbus Master on port RS-485. There are 15 MODBUS
functions available, MU01~MU0F, allowing the configuration of 15 Modbus telegrams. The
functions Remote I/O and Datalink must be disabled to execute the MODBUS function
(Remote I/O = 0 and ID = 0).
When enabled, the MU function takes the communication port and releases it when there
is no more enabled MU function and the MODBUS operation period is completed. Only
one MU function can be enabled at a time. There are modes for the MU function, each
mode corresponds to one Modbus function:
Digital markers used in the Modbus function:
Received Response (M3D)
Error indication (M3E)
Time out indication (M3F)
Timeout time will depend on the communication BaudRate, as shown in the table below:

The marker M3D is turned on when the telegram is received,
and then checked the consistency errors of the data. The
value is transferred to the destination of the MU function if
there is no error in the data.
Communication error indication
The marker M3F is turned on when then the time between
the sending and the receiving of the data is greater than the
definite one. The marker M3D will also be set. The marker M3F
will reset automatically when M3D is reset.
