7.4.1.7 Timer Mode 6 – Oscillator with Reset
When a timer in oscillator mode is enabled, its output will alternate continuously between
on-off, always starting the cycle with the output on. The period with the output turned
on and the period with the output off is the same, defined by the programmed time of
the timer. Once the timer is active, the enabling input can be turned off and the timer will
continue operation. To turn the timer off and stop the on-off cycle it is necessary to activate
the reset input.
In the example below input I04 will enable the timer. After enabled, the input is turned off
but the timer continues operation. When the reset input is activated, the timer is immediately
turned off.

7.4.1.8 Timer Mode 7 – Adjustable Oscillator
This timer has an operation mode similar to the oscillator timer (mode 5). The only difference
is the possibility of programming distinct times for the input ON period and the OFF period.
In order to accomplish that, this mode will use two timers, one for each period. The timer
declared in the logic will temporize the ON period and the subsequent timer will count the
OFF period. The second timer will generate a pulse at each cycle end. In the example below,
timer I01 will oscillate its output contact status while digital input I04 is ON. Since timer T02
is also used, it appears in the block view and cannot be used as a timer in another mode.
