7.4.2.7 Counter Mode 6 – Continuous Counting, Retentive and with Status
Retention
The operation is the same as in the Counter Mode 2, but after a CLIC-02 de-energizing the
counting value will be saved. When the CLIC-02 is turned on again, the last value saved
will be loaded again to the counter keeping its condition unchanged. The other functions
and features are the same as in the Counter Mode 2.
In case STOP occurs on CLIC-02 without de-energizing, the counting value will be
reset following the counting direction. To avoid this, the system option "C Retentive"
must be enabled, so that the value is maintained even with a STOP command without
de-energizing.
7.4.2.8 High Speed Counter
CLIC-02 models with DC supply include two high speed inputs of 1 KHz, available in
terminals I01 and I02. As default, these inputs run as regular digital inputs, but when
configured through a high speed counter, they will read inputs in a much shorter updating
time, reading signs up to 1 KHz. They are frequently used to count a very fast pulse (with
frequencies higher than 40Hz) and encoder reading. The high speed counters are configured
in counter modes 7 and 8.
7.4.2.8.1 Counter Mode 7 – High Speed Counter
The high speed counter mode 7 will count pulses of one of the high speed inputs – I01
or I02 – only in up mode. For this, the coil of the configured counter for this mode must
be enabled. The counter will turn on its output contacts when the current counting value
reaches the programmed value, not exceeding this value. To reset the counter, its reset
input can be used or the counter coil can be disabled. The counter parameters in this
mode are different from the regular counters, as observed below:
