10 PORT RS-485 COMMUNICATION FUNCTIONS
The communication port RS-485 is incorporated in the models CLIC-02/20VR-D and
CLIC-02/20VT-D. Through this port, we can incorporate CLIC-02 to a supervisory or
HMI system, change data with another installed CLIC-02 or control/monitor other devices
compatible with the Modbus protocol. The available functions are:
Remote I/O Function It is used to expand the number of CLIC-02 I/O. It can be used

between 2 CLICK-02 unities: a master and a slave one.
DataLink Function It allows the data exchange between the CLIC-02 stations. Up to 8
„
stations can be set. Each CLIC-02 can read/write information from other CLIC-02 in
the net.
Master Modbus RTU. Being the master of the Modbus network, CLIC-02 can
„
communicate with other devices compatible with The Modbus protocol, as frequency
inverters, multi-meters, scales, etc.
Slave Modbus RTU. In this mode, CLIC-02 can communicate with a computer, HMI or
„
another CLP that is a Modbus protocol master.
WARNING!
The maximum distance for the CLIC-02 wiring network RS-485 is 100m.

10.1 COMMUNICATION PARAMETERS

The RS-485 communication port has variable parameters, allowing the adjustment to
the needs of the other device to communicate. There are two ways of adjusting these
parameters.
10.1.2 Setting via the Programming Software
1. Connect the programming cable in the CLIC-02 and in the computer serial port RS-232;
2. On the Programming Software, make the connection with the CLIC-02, through the
Operation menu >> Connect to PLC;
3. Select the Operation menu >> System Configuration, to open the configuration window;
