2.1 Volkswagen AG

Due to the Oberaigner all-wheel-drive conversion to your Volkswagen Commercial Vehi-
cles base vehicle, the properties of your base vehicle may have changed. Please under-
stand that Volkswagen AG does not assume any liability for any negative effects resulting
from the Oberaigner all-wheel-drive conversion to the vehicle.
2.2 MAN Truck & Bus AG
Due to the modifications to your MAN base vehicle, the properties of your base vehicle
may have changed. Please understand that MAN Truck & Bus AG does not assume any
liability for any negative effects resulting from the modifications to the vehicle.
3. INFORMATION ABOUT THE
ALL-WHEEL-DRIVE SYSTEM
The vehicle is equipped with a permanent all-wheel-drive system with self-locking centre
differential.

3.1 Function/structure

With permanent all-wheel-drive, all wheels are being actuated while driving. The front
and rear axles are connected via a differential. This differential balances speed differences
between the axles (especially in bends) and prevents tension in the drive train.
A purely mechanical self-locking centre differential is employed on the Crafter/TGE with
Oberaigner all-wheel-drive. It is based on a zero-delay planetary gearbox. It distributes
the drive torque asymmetrically between the front and rear axles.

3.2 Power distribution

In normal drive mode, the drive power distribution between the front and rear axles is
42:58%.
This power distribution has been selected because the permissible rear axle load is greater
than the permissible front axle load. In addition, this distribution represents the optimum
dynamic driving layout for this configuration of commercial vehicle and provides the best
level of traction.
