4. OPERATING NOTES
This is an all-wheel-drive system designed to improve traction, handling and stability. The
vehicle is not suitable for extremely difficult terrain or off-road use.
4.1 Off-road driving
As a result of its structure, the vehicle is only designed for light off-road use and badly
maintained tracks.
When used off-road, the vehicle should not be parked on steep grades or on slopes with
loose or uneven surfaces.
When driving off-road, sand, mud and water, mixed with oil, may enter the brake. This may
lead to a reduced braking effect or to total failure of the operational and/or the parking
brake, including via increased wear. The braking characteristics will change depending on
the material that has penetrated.
If you then detect a reduced braking effect or grinding noises, have the braking system
checked immediately by a qualified expert company. Adapt your driving style to the
changed braking characteristics.
Off-road driving also increases the possibility of damage to the vehicle that will conse-
quently lead to failure of units or systems. Adapt your driving style to the ground condi-
tions. Drive with care. Have any vehicle damage rectified immediately in a qualified expert
workshop.
4.1.1 Vehicle cleaning after off-road driving
Clean the brake after off-road driving.
Remove dirt and mud from the front axle transmission and its surround-
ings before it dries – otherwise cooling by air as you drive along could be
impaired and damage to the transmission or the drive shafts may result.
