Communications profiles
AVENTICS | CANopen | R412005742–BDL–001–AD
Other device profiles are under development, for use in medical
technology and the navy, for example.
All device profiles have the communication profile from CiA DS-
301 in common. With the communication profile, basic device
data can be called up and set, such as:
Device name
W
Hardware/software version
W
Error status
W
CAN identifier used
W

General OD objects
Various entries in the OD are determined by CiA DS-301.
The OD contains constants, writable entries, readable entries,
as well as entries that can be read and written.
Through the constants and readable entries, the user can obtain
information, e.g. on module states, version recognition.
The writable entries are for controls as well as module
configuration and deviate from the default settings. The user
can, for example, reassign objects, change the identifiers, etc.
All of the values in the OD changed by the user or during
operation due to a specific situation are lost during a power
breakdown. After it is switched on again, all objects are at their
default values.
Detailed information on OD structure can be obtained using the
respective Electronic Data Sheets (RXxxRMV4_CO.EDS). The
files are in ASCII format and describe all of the bus coupler's
objects.
