• CYLINDER COMPRESSION CHECK

1) Return the throttle and move the shift lever or remote
control lever to the "N" (Neutral) position.
2) Remove the emergency stop switch clip.
3) Remove the engine cover (P. 4-2).
4) Remove the No.1 spark plug cap and remove the spark
plug.
5) Install the compression gauge (commercially available) in
the No.1 plug hole.
6) Disconnect the remote control cable (throttle side) from the
throttle arm.
7) Push the throttle arm against the full open position to open
the throttle fully.
8) Turn the combination switch to the "START" position and
operate the starter motor to measure the cylinder
compression.
Cylinder 1.37 - 1.67 MPa (14.0 - 17.0 kgf/cm
compression 199 - 242 psi) at 500 min
9) Measure the cylinder compression at each cylinder.
