Check on the tiller handle or side
mount remote control box side.
[Tiller handle type only]
Throttle grip in the fully open
position.
Shift control cable misadjusted.
Remote control cable [shift side]
stuck from corrosion.
Go to P. 2-48

Move the throttle grip to the fully
close position.
Adjust the remote control cable [shift
side] (P. 3-21).
Replace the remote control cable
[shift side] (P. 15-3, 16-17).
