4) Remove the 5 x 45 mm tube from the water check
grommet.

5) Remove the air vent tube C from the engine under case.

6) Remove the dipstick.

7) Remove the 6 mm lock pin and the two 6 mm washers from

the shift pivot of the remote control cable [throttle side].
Remove the remote control cable [throttle side] from the
throttle cam.

8) Disconnect the power tilt relay B terminal [Power trim/tilt
type only], main wire harness B terminal and the starter

cable (+) from the starter solenoid.
Remove the 8 x 18 mm flange bolt and disconnect the

starter cable (-).
