7. CYLINDER HEAD ASSEMBLY

ROCKER SHAFT ASSEMBLY REASSEMBLY

1)
Do not confuse the intake and exhaust rocker shafts.
Note the installation direction.
<Intake rocker shaft>

The intake rocker shaft is identified with the groove in the shaft. It
should be installed with the shorter side from the shaft end to the

groove in the position shown toward the No.1 cam holder.
<Exhaust rocker shaft>
The exhaust rocker shaft is identified with the hole in the shaft. It

should be installed with the shorter side from the shaft end to the
hole in the position shown toward the No.1 cam holder.

Apply molybdenum disulfide oil to the outer surface of the intake

and exhaust rocker shafts.
Install the intake and exhaust rocker shafts on the No.1 cam holder and insert the 6 x 70 mm flange bolt into the cam holder.
Note the installation direction of the intake and exhaust rocker shafts.

Install the following parts on the intake and exhaust rocker shafts of the No.1 cam holder.
<Intake rocker shaft>
Install the rocker arm spring A, rocker arm and the rocker collar on the rocker shaft in this order.

<Exhaust rocker shaft>
Install the rocker arm spring B and the rocker arm on the rocker shaft in this order.

Assemble the No.2 cam holder with the rocker shaft with the number on the cam holder toward the No.1 cam holder.

Insert the 6 x 70 mm flange bolt into the No.2 cam holder, and install the specified parts on the intake and exhaust rocker shafts
respectively.

Assemble the No.3 and No.4 cam holders with the respective rocker shafts and the parts in the same manner.
5)
Apply engine oil to the threads of the valve adjusting screw and to the threads and seat of the valve adjusting lock nut.
Install the valve adjusting screw and valve adjusting lock nut on the rocker arm.

• Hold the valve adjusting screw loosened fully.
