12) Apply engine oil to the threads of the connecting rod bolt
and to the seat of the connecting rod nut.

13) Install the connecting rod cap assembly on the connecting
rod, and tighten the two connecting rod nuts to the

specified torque.
TORQUE: 28 N . m (2.9 kgf . m, 21 lbf . ft)

• Install the connecting rod cap assembly, aligning the
4
code number with the number on the connecting rod.
• Check that the piston is at the bottom dead center of its
5
compression stroke before tightening the nuts. If not, turn
the crankshaft to bring the piston to the bottom dead
center of its compression stroke.

14) Apply engine oil to the thrust washers, and install them on

the No.2 journal of the cylinder block.

• Install the thrust washers with the grooved side toward
the crankshaft.

15) Install the main bearing on the crankcase aligning the
projection with the recess in the crankcase.
