d. REASSEMBLY
1) Install the lock plate on the spring guide.
Apply marine grease to the outer surface of each of the

spring, shift arm pin and the roller.
Install the shift arm pin on the spring guide noting the
2
installation direction as shown.
Apply marine grease to the outer surface of the bushing,
and install it on the shift frame (P. 16-20).

Apply marine grease to the shift gear in the positions
shown.

2) Install the roller of the spring guide, assembled in the step
5
1, on the roller installation part of the shift gear as shown.
3) Apply marine grease to the gear of the arm of the shift
6
frame.
Set the shift frame so that the arm is at right angles to the
7
horizontal line as shown.
Install the shift gear/spring guide assembly, assembled in
8
the step 2, on the shift frame with care not to move the arm
of the shift frame.

• Repeat the step 3 if the arm of the shift frame moved.

Tighten the two 5 x 14 mm screws on the shift frame (P. 16-
20).

4) Apply marine grease to the sliding surface of the throttle
cable pivot.

5) Install the rod grommet on the throttle rod and Tighten the

5 mm hex nut on the throttle rod.

6) Tighten the throttle cable pivot on the throttle rod.
